Starchart

From Starmourn

The Starchart is one of the most important tools in a spacer's life. It will tell you where you are situated in the sector from most places (with a few exceptions).

On the map you see displayed, each zone in the sector is represented by a single character, and zones that are grouped in the same subsector are colored similarly. See the Directions page for more on zones and the layout of the sector.

The STARCHART command can be modified by adding on the name of a zone, planet or station, for example: STARCHART GALLEN will show the location of the Gallen zone (as this is a named star system) with a yellow X, and your own location with a red X:

If you specify a planet or station in the above, only the zone will be displayed, so you will still need to find the specific target, which can be done using SHIP PLOT TO <zone> <coords coords> (note: don't use commas in your co-ordinates here!)

What do the letters on the starchart mean?
- C and R usually mean coreward or rimward.
- Most other letters are the first initial of the system located there. - For more info on this, see the Directions page.

11 Hreysil Cloud Orange Hreysil - RA-3946 (125, 125) Elonova Station, Inkke Station The Inkke system, orbiting the Yellow Dwarf sun Inkke, contains the planets Inkke I-IV and Praviskar.
Inkke IV is a dry, cold and inhospitable planet, with a small colony of 1589 people, mostly populated by Hercule Mining employees. There are Astrium mining facilities at key locations on the planet's rocky surface.
Praviskar has a more earthlike climate, though slightly more arid, and has a population of 2.2 Billion. Once home to a grand civilization of a free people, this planet was taken over by an invading fleet of Bushraki and Humans, and the Oescus race now suffers under the yoke of slavery. Its capital of Dhewa is the central operational hub for these activities.
The Elonova System is home to two planets, Prosabel I and II, with moons Jelxis and Isoxis in orbit around Prosabel II.
Thait is a small colony of Jin and Elgan on Prosabel II, founded less than a century ago. The colonists live on a small, rocky continent north of the planet's equator, which features verdant foliage growing along the maze-like cliffs and canyons formed of a stone much like limestone. As well as people, it is home to flourishing colonies of Moss Lizards, lapines and rosewings.

The Paskal System also lies among this subsector, where it is home to Prugita, a water planet and Nabian breeding colony of slaves: a sub-race of the Xariel engineered specifically for the Nabians by the Sa'hak-ren. The Prugita islands are tropical and idyllic, but are surrounded by deep oceans that keep the Xariel contained. Nabian security devices and aggressive aquatic beasts called Selakki equipped with weaponized augmentations can be found throughout the oceans.

The Izaren System, orbiting its Orange Dwarf sun of the same name, features a planet named Kellos, homeworld of the Loroi, and its moon Thrace. Thrace is inhabited mostly by mercenary groups who operate on the moon's lawless surface to avoid Kellos's tax laws, though there are some colonists as well. These mercenary groups often masquerade as mining, shipping, or other semi-legitimate operations to avoid detection.
14 Neutral Space Palest Green Neutralspace - RS-7049 (125, 125) Dawning (Inaccessible after the intro) The Sahar system is located in neutral space and is home to the planet Dawning - a bleak planet known as a place for meeting unusual people, making deals (legal or otherwise), arranging a clandestine rendezvous, finding work, or just lying low for a time. The Rensu System, situated around its Orange Dwarf, holds the oceanic, misty, temperate planet Ghenla. Ghenla is the capital planet of the Ibyssian Brotherhood and the home planet of the mysterious Lha Ti race, who are powerful Void Kith users. Like the other planets associated with the Ibyssian Brotherhood, it is almost completely covered in water, save some unusual landmasses that are uninhabited by anything but local wildlife. The population of the planet is unknown.
The Hiza System is home to the famous and gigantic Ixodon Industries Shipforge, an outpost of Ylneri homeworld of the Ixodon, an aquatic, ship-building race associated with the Ibyssian Brotherhood. Prospective ship buyers come here from all over the galaxy.
