Sean Reynolds was Maddox Khan's best friend and an engineer integral in the development of the artificial atmosphere and grav field employed in the habitation of the Haven City asteroid in Scatterhome. The naming of the sun Reynolds is said to have occurred as follows:
Khan: "Hey Reynolds, I named my son after you!"
Reynolds: "Huh?! Akari was pregnant?"
Khan: "Duhhh." *gestures to the sun, casually waving around a cigarette*.
