Talking Tukkav were, for many years, the most popular musical act in the whole Starmourn sector, and certainly the most famous. The group hail mainly from the Tukkav homeworld of Uycheon III and have become a household name in most inhabited worlds for their accessible and distictive style of Spacewave.

Band Members

Nitti Zege

Non-binary - Tukkav

Nitti Zege is the public face of Talking Tukkav. They retain very little creative control over the band's direction, despite being a household name, and the person most people associate with the group. They were born to a small family of mechanics in a suburb of Litharge, and are well-liked for their amiable public persona that seemingly always has time for their fans. They have an affable, refined air of 'cool' that they wear as easily as the broken-in pair of jeans that always sags around their hips. A joint of leesa hangs perpetually from their lips, and they are known to wear a slouchy newsboy cap with a pom pom that partially covers their shaggy, blue-tinted mane. Their style is casual and approachable, generally wearing a collared polo shirt with a vague protest motto stitched into the front, a pair of beat-up boots, and a leather jacket. Their face is rather ordinary, with the exception that their eyes have been enhanced with holographic cosmetics to glow with a solid, unbroken white light that gives them an almost cartoonish appearance.

Thief

Female - Tukkav

Thief is often considered the epitome of a "cool rockstar" among young Tukkav. Her style, mannerisms, and habits are studied and carefully copied by her legions of fans. She is infamous for a propensity to call other artists out in song lyrics, prompting bitter (and well publicized/profitable) feuds. Famous for her dramatic, dark eye makeup and ubiquitous leather jacket, Thief is the very definition of a rock idol. She is perfectly done up, any imperfections made invisible by her team of makeup artists. Her hair is shaved on one side of her head and the other side falls down in long dreadlocks. The rest of her fur is shaved with interesting patterns and designs, a Tukkav variation of tattooing.

Jorrit Pitter

Male - Nath-el

The only non-Tukkav member of Talking Tukkav, Jorrit Pitter's critically acclaimed work on the e-strings lends a spidery, ethereal quality to some of the band's most famous hits. The Nath-el man largely stands apart from the controversy and drama surrounding the other members of the band, but most fans agree that he's a solid, necessary part of the group. With a frame more spindly than most male Nath-el, Jorrit Pitter looks slightly ethereal in a twiggy, insectoid way. His eyes glitter with intelligence on either side of an impressive horn which, along with his elbow-spines, is tipped fashionably with palladon. The metal tips are the only physical indicator of his affluence. He is always dressed minimally and modestly. His defined torso is always bare, as are his feet. On his legs he wears a pair of black duracloth pants, held up by a belt sometimes decorated in Winterflame-style tassels. His ineffectual-looking wings spread out on either side of his stringy shoulders, and he holds his e-violin tucked beneath his narrow chin.

Var Tiktell

Male - Tukkav

The true creative force behind Talking Tukkav, Var Tiktell's musical brilliance is tempered by his acerbic personality and savage disdain for engaging with paparazzi. Executives at SonarGalactic, Talking Tukkav's production company, insisted that Var take a hard back seat to the more accessible personas of Nitti Zege and Thief. Var complied to this demand not long after his marriage to Yogga Zege, prompting a host of conspiracy theories and a division among the fanbase about the band's quality. A burly Tukkav man, he seems standoffish and uninterested. His style is understated but smart, and obviously expensive, usually wearing simple, yet obviously expensive trousers, a white merovian silk shirt, and a black blazer. His black leather dress shoes are always brightly polished and he wears dark sunglasses, even indoors. He keeps his dark brown hair coiffed with care and precision.

Yogga Zegge

Non-binary - Tukkav

Though Yogga Zege has no real role in Talking Tukkav, they are famous for being married to producer and mixologist Var Tiktell, and they always accompany the band on tour - they even have secondary writing credit for a few songs. Many fans cling to the controversial theory that the band's quality sharply declined when the marriage occurred, with another camp of supporters fervently claiming the exact opposite. Zegge carries themself with an air of mysticism and intrigue. They keep the hair on their head long and cut in a severe asymmetrical style. Their makeup is always the same; simple, bright red lipstick and black winged eyeliner. Oozing understated style, they can often be seen in simple and elegant clothing such as the plain white dress and floppy white hat they wore to Winterfest 946 A.E.. They usually have a small smile and a distant, slightly confused, look on their face.

Other Media

Talking Tukkav have many famous music vids and live recordings on the commsphere, including a snippet from their famous song 'The Chase', which was used on a now-rare holoposter:

A group of Tukkav and one spindly Nath-el man all walk towards you in slow motion black and white, hair trailing dramatically. Their shadows are taller than they are and do not match their bodies - they are instead large creatures that look ready to attack, their claws and teeth gnashing from their silhouettes.

Fun Facts

  • The band's appearance at Winterfest 946 A.E. attracted the attention of an incredibly dangerous and rare animal called the Icehorn - native to Tosmar on Uycheon III. Nicknamed 'Beastie' or 'The Beast', the animal was kept at bay by the staff, volunteers and helpful visitors to the festival area and it is rumored that, in the end, it enjoyed the show.
  • Tucky Grish, Tukkav bartender and mainstay at the Winterflame Amphiteather in Tosmar, is apparently associated with Talking Tukkav in some way, though it's unclear if they are a roady, a groupie, or a personal mixologist to the band.
