The Shentones are the most popular and accessible Shen aetherscape group in the Starmourn Sector. They tour on a large starship called 'The Cochlea', home to the legendary shipboard aetherscape, which was famously invented by the band's Theremin player, Damanus. Damanus is a founding member of the group, with Ma Shidaz - the two are credited with bringing the culturally insular aetherscape musical style off of Kovalar. The band comprises of married triad; Ma, Rhidi and Adiati Shidaz, along with Damanus and the somewhat controversial Finuf Wagha. Much to mixed acclaim and criticism by the Shen people, the band openly pushes for the expansion of the aetherscape artform as well as its accessibility to other races and cultures.

Ma Shidaz
Female - Shen
Ma Shidaz, the founder of the Shentones, is known for her soft, ethereal voice and distinctively rhythmic way of speaking, as well as bringing the culturally insular aetherscape genre to the broader ear of the galaxy. The delicate, middle-aged Shen woman has done much to make the very obscure musical style accessible to non-Shen - to much controversial criticism. The Cultural Affairs office has voted on multiple occasions to exile her from Kovalar, but so far none of the motions have passed.
Rhidi Shidaz
Female - Shen
Rhidi Shidaz, Ma Shidaz's spouse, is a less controversial figure than her wife. She is vocal in her resentment of the paparazzi, and while in public, will often wear long, flowing robes and oversized hologlasses that cover as much of her face and body as possible.
Finuf Wagha
Male - Shen
A bit of an odd man out, Finuf Wagha is the newest member of the Shentones, and is a classically trained Exaltor. Though he lives on board The Cochlea with the rest of the artists, he was once, in the recent past, extremely vocal in his belief that Aetherscape music is for Shen ears alone. Nobody knows what he is now doing with the most egalitarian and broadly accessible aetherscape group in the galaxy. Fans are bitterly divided, with some swearing that he is trying to take the group down from the inside, while others claim Ma Shidaz and her family showed him the error of his ways.
Damanus
Male - Shen
Damanus, along with Ma Shidaz, is largely responsible for bringing aetherscape music off of Kovalar. The inventor of the shipboard Aetherscape, his work and ingenuity allows the Shentones to literally carry their music with them. He, along with the rest of the Shentones, lives on board The Cochlea - a massive, flying concert hall that roams the galaxy when touring, and is docked at The Crossings when at home.
Adiati Shidaz
Female - Shen
Adiati is the third member of the Shidaz triad, and is married to both Ma and Rhidi. Her use of the harmony glass, a Nath-el instrument, is controversial - but is in line with the Shentones and their message of inclusion and the expansion of the aetherscape art form. In addition to being a skilled musician, she has been sighted at multiple Shi Dhuk retreats on paradise worlds, and was selected as a model for the Sun Rises Inward line of bespoke Shi Dhuk clothing and fitness gear.
