Drukpyr are lanterns made from the exoskeleton of a giant Tarak beetle's head, traditionally displayed on Gunurash III during Krona festival of the dead, Rapadruk. They are often accompanied by pikatos, which are carved to bear grisly, illuminated faces.
They symbolize Nidra, the gigantic, mythological Tarak beetle said to transport Elder Druk on his rampage to raise the dead that begins the final event of the festival, Nidrak-Bek - the Night of Souls.
