A Space Colony refers to a settlement by a given race or organization in outer space. Colonies may be orbital or be interstellar craft. The Human race is known to have established many colonies in their interstellar exploration. While many were used for exploration and resource gathering, some were used for other purposes such as the penal colony Callisto.
