Snowaul

A large nocturnal bird of prey native to Uycheon III, the snowaul ranges across the tundra, hills and mountains of its natural habitat, using its fluffy white plumage to blend into the snow-covered landscape as it hunts for small mammals, insects or other sources of nutrition. It is a large bird, standing almost a meter tall when perched, with a wingspan of up to two meters when full grown. It has a flat, heart-shaped face with round, intelligent eyes and an swiveling neck with an incredible range of motion, able to rotate almost 360 degrees. Tufts of feathers crest its round head like ears, and sprout from above its feet to cover its long black talons.

When properly trained, the snowaul can be employed as a low-tech means to deliver messages and small items across terrestrial environments.
