Bis

A bis (plural: Bice) is a citrus fruit native to W'hoorn homeworld Benu Wen.

You could be forgiven for mistaking the bis as a relative of the yellitrus, but it's actually an entirely different species from an entirely different star system, though it's believed to have evolved from similar ecological conditions. Unlike the yellitrus, the fruit of the bis tree are long and thin, their bumpy skin a deep green, and their juicy segmented flesh a slightly more sweet and fragrant flavor than yellitrus. They are often sliced into thin discs and used to adorn cocktails, boiled with spices and vinegar to make a hot pickled condiment, or made into a clear, sugared jelly traditionally enjoyed on hot buttered toast by W'hoorn children in its native climes on Benu Wen. In the Siva forest they ripen on tall white trees with yellow leaves in the autumn, hanging in bunches like long, green fingers.
