The Binding Dance is a Elgan marriage rite performed to symbolize unity between those wed. The two betrothed hold silk ribbons while dancing through a complex pattern. This pattern eventually binds them together in a knot known as the Argisan, symbolizing that their two lives are now forever bound together.
