Critically endangered within its native habitat on Uycheon III, the loranthoe is a parasitic woody vine that grows like branches around trees that are large enough to sustain them. They have dark and knotted wood and clusters of waxy, dark green, heart-shaped leaves, and are remarkably resistant to frost, only growing by inches when the weather is at its coldest. In the deeps of winter, it grows rigid, frost-white flowers that fruit into pairs of round, pink berries that cause painful stomach cramps. As a result of these qualities, loranthoe is found in the folklore of many tribes, representing good fortune, romance and fertility.
