Nidra is the name of a Kronan mythological gigantic Tarak beetle, whose name means 'night' in their language.
It is said that she can fly, and transports Elder Druk around the planet at the end of the Rapadruk festival of the dead, raising the souls of the deceased as they travel, creating a rampaging army of mayhem that reaches its culmination with a huge and riotous final celebration at the end of the festival known as Nidrak-Bek - Night of Souls.
Her parade with Elder Druk and their army of mayhem are said to give out sugary and spicy treats to raise the pulses and therefore the appetite for chaos in the people they pass, and therefore its traditional to give and receive candy and foods as spicy as possible during this time.
The traditional Drukpyr (a lantern made from the exoskeleton of a giant Tarak beetle's head) is often displayed during Rapadruk in dedication to Nidra.
Nidra Petals are a popular cuisine ingredient that lend an almost unbearably spicy-hot profile and little flavor of their own to any dish. They are named after Nidra.
