Created from the powdered scales of the luminous lyssla fruits, lyssigar is a popular Elgan household seasoning with a complex fruity flavor.

Each lyssigar mix is a careful combination of differently colored powders available in any combination of sweet and bitter, and it is easy to guess at how any given sample might be based on its color; blue-violet colored powder will be sweeter, while a blue-green colour will be more bitter. It is well-known that bitter lyssigar retains a slight laxative effect no more pronounced than karaffee, and for that reason, bitter dishes feature in most classic Elgan breakfasts.
