Drums
Drums have largely remained the same throughout history. They are a hollow circular bowl or barrel shape, with some kind of skin or covering on at least one end that is struck to create a percussive noise, used to create rhythm and keep a beat in music. Drums range from small bongos that are made from wood and played with the hands, right up to barrel-sized kithdrums made from paristeel and infused with star kith. Although materials, technology and culture have developed significantly in the past thousand or so years, standard drum kits used by bands still largely comprise of the same - tom-tom, bass drum, snare, hi-hat and cymbal - basic kit as was probably known by the first Terran spacers a thousand or so years ago.
