The Opathar is a fluted, traditional Nusriza instrument with an ethereal look. Tall and slender, the sensitive "mouthpiece" picks up any movement of wind or air across the neck, causing it to produce a constant droning noise unless kept in a vacuum. The instrument is played by directing these air currents, often with the artistic use of feathered fans.
