History
The Vendal are a race hostile towards the Free Fleet. They attacked the fleet shortly after Callisto was captured. The Human inmates were caught in battle and their tenacious fight for survival against the Vendal convinced Commander Mezer Juul to enlist the inmates rather than sell them.
