A Faction is an organization within the immersive world of Starmourn populated by both players and NPCs, whose history, interests and conflicts help to shape the experience of its constituent players.
Each Faction is shaped in turn by the needs and wishes of its players, with respect to its place in the world, and it is managed by real players. In this regard, it is by the people, for the people.
The three Factions of Starmourn are;
- The Song Dominion - a military autocracy ruled by a Lord Commander with supreme executive authority.
- The Celestine Ascendancy - a democratic post-capitalist state governed by a Guardian Council
- Scatterhome - an anarchic collection of free states and rogue organizations
