Lake Eotvos is a body of water situated in a drainage basin on the outskirts of a colony named Zephyr on the planet Selubir. Naturally saturated with copper leeched from the earth, the waters of the lake are murky orange, with cloudy with copper-based particulates stirred up by aquatic life within the lake. Though the water contains levels of copper toxic to humans, it supports a thriving local ecosystem, including Paddlefish and Red-Bellied Toads, and as well as many insects, such as Copper Flitwings, Lake Darters, Rockhoppers and swarms of Treplings. Copses of xaocoren grow here, harvested by the folk of Zephyr as both a source of food and building material.
