Hagda

Though not a true spider, the hagda of the Locorin Swamp on the planet Krell certainly bears some similarities, with a small thorax and large abdomen, eight legs, and a short coat of spiky blue-grey fur. Its eight eyed are bright blue with slitted pupils like a great cat. It has curved spikes at the ends of each leg to aid it in climbing across all kinds of difficult terrain.

Hagda are often feared or reviled by offworlders for their egg-laying behavior - a brooding hagda keeps her young inside her, and injects them via ovipositor into live prey, enabling rapid growth for the hungry infant swarm.
