The zampogna is an Elgan wind instrument that produces a droning, often discordant music. It is played by inflating a leather-lined silken bag of bright-colored material with air through a long, black-laquered mouthpiece, then releasing that wind by opening and closing valves jutting out of the other side of the bag.
