Taut, tanned [[vurbok]] hide, stripped of scales but still dramatically striped in green and orange, is stretched across the round sides, providing two surfaces capable of producing a deep, hollow booming noise. Often played by two [[Ry'nari]] at a time, the bumnuga was traditionally used as a method of scaring prey from the bushes, and is common at [[tribe|tribal]] ceremonies.
