Ship rooms can be created and customized using the SHIP REFIT menu and commands therein. Below are some of the room options that can be found using SHIP REFIT ROOMS.
- Airlock
- A small airlock.
- This tiny room is nothing but a pressure equalizing chamber, a place between places, with caution striping on the walls and an indicator light above each round door that flicks to green when it is safe to open either side. A sealed panel on one wall offers access to a manual override switch, for emergencies.
- Armory
- A well-equipped armory.
- Corrugated, wall-mounted shelves of paristeel line the walls of this well-lit and spacious chamber, which is floored with squeaky white tiles. Spot lighting above each shelf highlights the various weapons on display. Beyond the shelves, a couple of biped armor models hold a few bits and pieces of ablative armor. There is a workbench at the far end of the room where intrepid inventors can fit together their latest attempts, while a computerized cabinet beside the bench holds tools, mods, and a holographic display of the room's inventory.
- Barracks
- A bunk-lined barracks.
- Lozenge-shaped, this barracks is nestled in along one side of the ship's hull, walled in by smooth grey bulkheads. Rows of metal-framed bunks are bolted to these bulkheads, with a small storage locker at the foot of each one for personal belongings.
- Maindeck
- The main deck.
- This broad main deck is located in the center of the ship, connecting all the various places and spaces that run along the sides of it. The bulkheads are smooth and molded, and recessed lighting beneath the corrugated floor panels gives the entire area an underlit glow. The low hum of the ship's engines reverberates in the background like the beating of a giant's heart.
- Lounge
- A subdued lounge.
- A smooth bar of molded nanoplastic sweeps around the back half of this lounge, just a bit of space between it and the bulkhead for the shelves of liquor and wine that are installed behind it, magnetic metal clamps keeping them from shifting about too much during moments of shipboard turbulence. The rest of the space is taken up by small, intimate little tables and chairs.
- Messhall
- A regimented mess hall.
- A center aisle down the middle of this long hall is flanked on either side by rows of military style tables, well-bolted to the floor to save them from the turbulence of space combat or navigating debris fields. Bulky food fabbers line the far wall, ready to print out a variety of nutritious and protein rich meals. The track lighting overhead keeps this area dimly lit, and the bulkheads crowd close on either side of the lines of tables.
- Stateroom
- A boxy stateroom.
- Things are small in this stateroom, with that spaceship economy of size that makes many places modest in scope. Still, it is a private room, with a single bed sized big enough for two thin people or one extremely large one, and a small powered locker for belongings. Bolted to the floor, a heavy table stands here. Reinforced by paristeel bands is a boxy footlocker. A narrow table of paristeel stands nearby on four wheeled legs.
- Studio
- A high-tech sound studio.
- Equipped with the latest in sonic enhancement architecture, this unique music studio has been designed to fit aboard a shipboard space with ease. A surround-sound system has been built into the bulkheads, and a noise-cancelling field prevents the noises of the engine from interfering with any soundscapes that might be sculpted here. A small, glassed in booth with a mixing table overlooks a modest stage, and a few loose wires and speaker systems are stacked around the area.
- Recroom
- A sprawling recreation room.
- Low slung, sound-proofed ceilings and bulkheads lit at intervals with neon lighting that fans towards the floor in a cone-shaped gradiant are the first impressions one might get upon entering this shipboard recreation room. It is a modern place, the bulbous far end occluded by the presence of a large, wrap-around holographic immersion screen. Cushy seats and small tables fill the rest of the area, and there are all manner of entertainments available, from quantum chess to Krellstones.
- Restroom
- A clean restroom.
- There is nothing too out of place or unusual about this shipboard bathroom, gleaming paristeel walls and tiled floors covering the bulkheads that lurk beneath. There are toilets and a row of sinks below a mirror, as well as a couple enclosed showers. As in every other place in the ship, the hum of the engine pulses throbs through every surface.
- Hydroponics
- A gleaming hydroponics bay.
- White floor, white bulkheads, white ceiling, white lights. Such is the environment in which one might find themselves when they step into this hydroponics chamber. Two long tables of molded nanoplastic, full to the brim with healthy greens growing in a soil-less substrate, stretch down its length, with a small aisle in between. A small monitoring drone nips here and there, a hovering little orb of silver, checking the hydration levels of the various plants, and some equipment sits on a shelf in the corner.
- Medbay
- A sleek medbay.
- Tucked into an alcove of the ship is this small but sleek medbay, the bulkheads gleaming with cleanliness, the floor shining white beneath the bright glare of the overhead lights. Various medical equipment is stationed throughout the bay, and there are a couple of flat cots stationed near the back, waiting for injured crewmen.
- Gym
- A small fitness center.
- A couple of treadmills and a compact resistance machine line the back wall of the small fitness center that has been built aboard the ship, ready to offer motivated crewmen a way to keep in conditioning during long space voyages. There is a padded area of clear mats before a mirror on the other side, and free weights standing on a shelf, though chained down in case of turbulence.
- Commonroom
- A cozy ship's common room.
- Snug and comfortable, this room with its rounded bulkheads, neutral-toned carpeting, and comfortable furniture seems to be some kind of common space meant for off duty personnel. There are a few battered holorigs attached to the plush couches that are installed along the walls, and a small, circular minibar rising from the center of the room. Tiny portholes look out onto the blackness of space, and the lighting is dim and soothing.
- Amaianswimtank
- A temperate Amaian swimming tank.
- A triple-layered section of the ship's hull bulges outward in sinuous, elegant lines. Much of the design seems influenced by Amaian architecture, with blue hues predominating and a pair of pillar-like bulkheads flanking the door leading out of this place. Installed into the center of the space is a deep, clear-sided swimming tank that can be accessed via a small catwalk. The liquid within is temperate and perfectly clear. Despite its location aboard a space-going vessel, there is plenty of space within the tank for multiple bodies to cavort beneath the surface.
- Utilityroom
- A crowded utility room.
- From this small, closet-like space, several necessary but unattractive aspects of the ship's vital functions can be accessed, from switchboxes for the electrical conduits to various plumbing and non-essential climate control nozzles, tabs, and touch screens that glow in the dim light of recessed dot-lighting. The bulkheads are crowded with toolboxes, spare parts, and a few implements used in cleaning, hygeine, and general maintenance.
- Avionics
- A claustrophobic avionics chamber.
- Located in the nose of the spacecraft, this cramped, cone-shaped compartment is packed full of all the electrical, computing, and navigational equipment needed to guide this vessel through the vast blackness of space. The area is dimly lit in the light thrown from multiple touch panels and control pads, and there is but a small crawlspace between bulky server stacks and tangled tubing in which to navigate.
- Humanlibrary
- A small media library of Human history.
- This small chamber appears to be dedicated to the consumption of historical media, judging by the battered row of old-fashioned holodiscs lining a shelf beneath a slick viewscreen. A few pedestals in the area hold datashards containing significant historical records about the homeless plight of humanity. In the center of the room is a large holographic globe projecting a simulation of what historians believe Earth looked like. 2 bolt-legged tables are here.
- Observation
- A blue-lit observation lounge.
- Spacious and accomodating, though rather narrow, this room has been tucked off one of the spaceship's decks, snugged up against the hull. A vast window of triple-shielded formglass gives passengers a view into the black void of space, or whatever happens to be outside at the moment. The area is carpeted and suffused with low blue light, and some plush, dark couches are installed into bulkheads opposite the window, perfect for lounging and watching the stars roll by. The rumble of the ship's engines is a constant, soothing hum.
- Captainscabin
- A spacious captain's cabin.
- Tucked up beneath the hull, there is quite a lot of space allocated to these personal quarters, suggesting that it belongs to the captain of this spacegoing vessel. A bed large enough for two sits against the far bulkhead. There is a fish tank installed in the corner, filled with exotic aquatic beasties of all varieties - unless someone has forgotten to feed them.
- Bathroom
- A clean private bathroom.
- A single corner shower, a single toilet, and a single sink - that is the extent of the gleaming appliances available for use in this bathroom, suggesting that it is meant for a single occupant. The lock on the door confirms it, a single button push would change the outside indicator light from green to red, indicating that the chamber is occupied.
- Walkinfridge
- A cramped walk-in refridgerator.
- This dimly lit space is barely larger than a closet, and it is made more cramped by the presence of narrow, paristeel shelves lining every bulkhead. The cold of the void seems to have seeped in from beyond the ship, for it is very frosty in here, breath fogging whenever one exhales. The presence of a refrigeration unit hums and rattles. A few meathooks on short chains dangle from the ceiling, clinking gently.
- Grayroom
- A quiet, signal-jammed gray room.
- Nondescript and understated, with the subtle hint of soundproof padding on the walls, this small,dimly lit room has a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. So peaceful, in fact, that it almost seems unnatural - until you realize that this is a gray room, a space specifically engineered to block out the nonstop torrent of mindsim information, comms chatter, and personal communication that usually assaults you, shrouding you in the hallowed silence of muted, uninterrupted tranquility.
- Labs
- A research laboratory.
- Holographic terminals for research results and number crunching are installed at intervals between long pull-down wall tables of gleaming paristeel in this ship's laboratory. There are locking, glass-fronted cabinets full of scientific equipment in the corners, and glittering beneath the recessed strip lighting is a complex series of instruments on an island counter that rises from the center of the lab.
- Elgandining
- An a Elgan dining chamber.
- Tall tables and tall chairs are dotted around this dining hall, which has round walls, rather like a traditional Elgan Toh. The rich, jewel-tone colors used in the wall hangings and floor tiles speak to more Elgan influence. A fragrance of fresh fruits and vegetables wafts pleasantly through the air.
