Synchronization

The Synchronization, or, the Sync is an IC event that happens once every month to keep time flowing normally in a galaxy where everything is light years apart. It is a cultural phenomenon agreed upon and bought into by just about every sentient race in the sector. The Sync has huge cultural importance, as it allows time to pass in the same way for everyone, regardless of whether or not they're on a planet, a station, travelling through space, or anywhere else in the sector. Any interference with the Synchronization would be catastrophic to life, commerce, and travel.
