The Starchart is one of the most important tools in a spacer's life. It will tell you where you are situated in the sector from most places (with a few exceptions).

On the map you see displayed, each zone in the sector is represented by a single character, and zones that are grouped in the same subsector are colored similarly. See the Directions page for more on zones and the layout of the sector.

The STARCHART command can be modified by adding on the name of a zone, planet or station, for example: STARCHART GALLEN will show the location of the Gallen zone (as this is a named star system) with a yellow X, and your own location with a red X:

If you specify a planet or station in the above, only the zone will be displayed, so you will still need to find the specific target, which can be done using SHIP PLOT TO <zone> <coords coords> (note: don't use commas in your co-ordinates here!)

What do the letters on the starchart mean?
- C and R usually mean coreward or rimward.
- Most other letters are the first initial of the system located there. - For more info on this, see the Directions page.
