Horizon's Reign is both the central spire in the capital city as well as the first spire ever erected. Originally meant to be the home for the Tajhan and their throng, over time, it has been repurposed for more political interests; now, it houses the embassies of the Song Dominion affiliates as well as the Welkin Fastness, the monarch’s seat of power. As the oldest spire in Mir, the Reign is constantly repaired, restored, and reinforced: the latest update included baryonic titanium plating around its dome (which cost a hefty sum in taxes, much to the chagrin of the citizenry). The spire, and the Fastness more specifically, is also the location of Spire Defense Headquarters, which acts as Mir's police force.

Spacer's Landing is the main spacer spire in Mir. Built after the Nusriza formally joined the Song Dominion, its construction was controversial, to say the least. Echanism protested, and as such, the spire was not finished until a year well after the end of the Echanine Schism (roughly 2306 AD). The Landing's primary purpose is to provide amenities and temporary lodging for Dominion allies and other visitors, as well as give access to the capital city by way of its starport. A Spire Defense checkpoint requires passing before full entry into the Landing and city proper. There are a couple of places in the Landing that are worth mentioning:
