The Jin have purple skin, clawed fingers, and lack the  protruding ears that define many humanoid races. In the center of their foreheads, they possess a third eye which they call the "deatheye". This eye allows them to "see" some kind of "shadow" (for lack of a better word) of recent deaths in the area.

The Jin are one of the few races in the Starmourn sector that we are sure originated outside of it, for they arrived here only a few hundred years ago, though they are, it is believed, about 20,000 years older than even the Shen.

Priorities Life, to a Jin, is about preparing for the end of life. One must have an honorable death to consecrate one's essence, and transcend into the next life. They aren't suicidal, but they welcome the glorious and unique experience of dying when fate forces a choice, or when there is no other honorable choice.

Relationships When they pair up, which many never do, it's usually for life. They have fairly loose families, with nothing like a tribal structure, and have no regard for gender in terms of role in life.
How do they treat 'other's? From their perspective, well. From the perspective of many others, brutally. Infirmity in old age is extremely rare, for one of the Jin close to you will almost certainly decide to send you to the afterlife with honor before then, for which the Jin whose life has ended would be very grateful. Children born with deformities are killed out of hand, while older Jin who fall ill or are badly wounded in battle are ended with honor, that they not burden those around them.
Notable rituals All of their most important rituals revolve around death. In the Mask of T'rath ceremony, a recently dead relative's deatheye is covered in a blanket woven for that purpose. The body is then placed in a capsule and ejected into space on a trajectory that would send it into a star. In certain cases, the deceased is esteemed so highly that a volunteer from their immediate family is selected to ride with them into the next life.
Entertainment They love to participate in re-enactments of historical battles, scenes, and stories. Their culture is a strict one, with lots of pressure to conform to one's expected role in society. Using elaborate costumes and hologram-projection technology, they re-enact these bits of history or fantasy in groups as small as two or as many as thousands. This allows them, while in costume, to step outside their culture's strict boundaries for decorum and honorable behavior.
Government Historically they were ruled by a a Kwajah, a hereditary position that translates to Lord or Master. The Godking they fled was a Kwajah who created a death religion around him. The Departed Jin - the only ones we know - are part of Scatterhome and so are semi-autonomous, with not much government beyond a loose collection of responsible individuals who ensure the remaining part of the Blood Ark remains livable and safe.
Religion They worship a death god called T'rath, but they also believe this god perished long before their race was birthed. They believe their deatheye and the connection to death it grants them is evidence of T'rath reaching forward from the distant past to grant them this power. In return, they honor his memory and live their lives with death ever in their minds. The Jin believe that death represents the single most important part of life. Death is universal, and utterly transformative; a good life is one that ends with a good death. They believe that the failure to honor death does a grave disservice to all life, and that those who do not share in their religion can nevertheless be consecrated through death.
