Every time a player lands on a planet with a cloning facility (which exist on most civilized worlds), or sets foot on a space station that has a cloning facility, their mindsim will upload a copy of their current brain scan from their INR to the cloning facility’s network.
When a player dies, they'll be resurrected at a cloning facility minus a small bit of their xp. If they feel like it's worth it and they died in a way that saw their INR survive, they could go back to where they died, retrieve their INR, and get a good portion of that xp back.

Or, they could choose to sell it back to the player that died, or to someone else. That’s a nasty thing to do, of course, but Starmourn’s full of space villains (some of them are probably reading this now).
