A Covenant Mark is a form of currency developed by the Y'saari that permits travel through the Voidgate Network. It was developed after the Cleax invasion approximately 26,000 ago in order to control and regulate the traffic through the gates. The value of access to the voidgate system to any civilization is so significant that covenant marks have become some of the most valuable forms of currency in the Starmourn Sector.
