Chintacles

At first glance at a set of chintacles it's hard to tell what the oddly shaped bundle of flexible material could possibly be. After some further examination you will find a set of prosthetic chin tentacles made to fit on the face of non-Shen races. Often featuring careful loops that run from around the ear and down below the chin, but other times attaching to the skin or scales directly, they are usually made from a soft, tactile nanorubber, which many young spacers find fun to stroke whilst deep in thought (or pretending to be).

What started as a fad among the young in the slums of Scatterhome, to paint their faces with intricate patterns, has mutated into a whole new beast. Originally face painting at special events turned into a chance to show status through facial tattoos and conceptual body art to either respect or degrade the many races that came through town.

Now, however, the youth have picked up on something amazing, chintacles. Most adults looked down on the fad until they realized some rather deviant sexual uses for these prosthetics and the black market for them really started to boom.
