Red-Bellied Toads
Red-Bellied Toads are amphibians found in Lake Eotvos where they thrive despite the high levels of copper toxicity in the ecosystem. Its head is covered in lumpy warts that resemble old logs despite its two overly large eyes, its skin is deep green in color, and as its name suggests, its underbelly is bright red. When basking, the toad lies belly-up in order to blend in with the vibrant color of the copper-saturated water.
