Armored vacuum flea
An enormous spacefaring insect the size of a small interceptor, the armored vacuum flea is a rounded, ridge-backed creature, with a rocky exoskeleton and eight legs that it uses to leap through the endless zero-gravity vastness of space, and to rip apart asteroids for nutrients. They avoid atmospheric and simulated-gravity environments when possible, but nevertheless leap through the vacuum of space until they simply come across something edible.
