Ikvaya is a special meditative position used by practitioners of the traditional Jin martial art, Ir-Vothiam. It involves closing the normal eyes to hone the deatheye's vision of the world. Its purpose is to remind the individual of the inevitability of death and change, both personally and in the wider world, which is regarded as being a great motivator on life's path. It is believed that an awareness of the reality and inevitability of one’s personal death can be a fantastic energizer, releasing unsuspected levels of motivation for radical change.
