Paperweight

Paperweight is a planet in the Razor's Rift system, home to the native Belaul - an avian race with thick plumage and deep downy underfeathers, as well as strong wings and legs that are not quite powerful enough to lift their relatively bulky bodies into the inclement weather for long enough to grand them sustained flight.

In the year 212, a settlement of outcasts known as the Twice-Departed, a collection of Jin who have embraced the Good Life over the Jin cultural norm of Death as T'rath's honorable embrace into the Void, crash landed in their ship, the Li'gon, and triggered a major greenhouse collapse. The planet is now known for its icy tundra, home to creatures such as the ulven, b'goru, pinniluna and more who thrive in the cold climate.

The Belaul settlement of Yr'sh'eya near the refuge of the Li'Gon is known as the Hearth of Many Stars. The core residence of the Paperweight Belaul community, many Belaul dwell inside the enormous ancient belfir tree, which they consider to be a living spirit named Mymaeir.

Beware the frost salamander caves to the southeast and the Belaul ravaged by Tundra Madness in the caves to the northwest as you explore, though you may also take up Fishing in this small portion of the Sector - a common pastime for Jin and Belaul alike. Also, enjoy the beautiful scenes of the aurora (the northern lights of Paperweight) as the ulven prowl back to their dens for their evening slumber.
