Wormhole Generator
Wormhole Generators are devices that create a temporary wormhole between two points. Generators that are placed at both points allow for virtually instantaneous faster-than-light between them. The cost rises exponentially with the size of the object and the distance it is being transported. This is because of the immense amount of energy needed to not only sustain the wormhole but to protect the matter being transported from quantum decay. Thus, using such methods tends to be highly impractical for most and only the largest governments and intercorps are able to avail themselves of this technology.
Fixed two-way generators are powered by isomorphic florinite, while one-way generators, such as those employed in skipdrives, are powered by vandium crystals.
