Ever wondered what makes a haerbist vicious?
Spike tendrils are parasitic plants that survive in the cold, harsh environment of the Tosmar Mountains.
The tendril latches onto skin of unsuspecting haerbists and feeds off it through the winter. It injects the beast with a constant irritant which ensures it is well fed through the harsh climates.
As the tendril feeds from the haerbist, it develops a tetrahedral nut. The nut is rich in iron and exhibits a rich red color. After maturity, it falls off, waiting for an unsuspecting haerbist to step near it.
