A flowering plant native to Paperweight, the niniku flower would be extinct if not for the care of Belaul herbalists, who maintain the only living specimens of this pre-Ice Age species inside their greenhouses. The niniku grow from small bulbs that lay dormant until springtime, when they shoot up a pair of thorny stems crowned in matching flowers. Deep violet streaked with magenta, with a bright yellow stamen at the center, the heavy flowers are almost too heavy for the stems, which bend and bounce in the breeze.
Oral tradition personifies this flower as inseparable siblings, sometimes twins, and the happiness they bring one another.
