Skirmishing is a general skill that all Starmourn players have access to. It includes a number of very basic combat abilities.
You can increase your knowledge of skirmishing by using lessons.
This skill takes 1750 total lessons to complete.
Abilities in Skirmishing
Ability | Description |
Cover | Take cover behind props. |
Your combat knowledge allows you to take cover behind various props that can be found at your location. | |
Unarmed | Master unarmed combat. |
For those mornings after the night before when you find yourself stripped of weapons and dignity, you can use the most basic attacks - punching and kicking. | |
Escape | Flee from combat. |
If you've bitten off more than you can chew, disengage yourself from a combat situation, and make a hasty escape in your chosen direction. | |
Focusing | Focus on a single target. |
Focus on the actions of your foe, ignoring anything happening at your location that does not concern you. This ability will hide attack messages that are directed at anyone other than you. | |
Evaluation | Weigh up a foe. |
By comparing your level against the level of the target, you can assess their threat level. This assessment may be inaccurate, but it should provide you with the general idea. | |
Discharge | Purge yourself of residual EM energy. |
Purge all residual electromagnetic energy from yourself. | |
Silentorders | Non-verbal communication. |
Silently signal to those who are taking cover behind the same prop as you. | |
Pacify | Calm a creature. |
Attempt to calm a creature to stop it from fighting. Your chance of success is based on the difference between your level and your target's, but is never a guarantee. | |
Quickdraw | Swiftly draw a weapon. |
Impress your friends! Outdraw your enemies! Swiftly wield something without any balance cost! Best you get it right on the first draw, partner, there is a cooldown. | |
Slink | Slink into the shadows. |
Slink into the shadows to make yourself invisible to casual observers. Movement will end the effect. | |
Arson | It is a pleasure to burn. |
Share your warm and caring personality with everyone, commit an act of arson! If you're successful, the room will be set on fire, causing damage to everyone present. | |
Snare | Set up a snare trap. |
Set up a snare trap at the location. Anyone attempting to cross through the exit in either direction will be tripped and thrown to the ground. | |
Divert | Divert attention from yourself. |
Nothing to see here, you promise. Attempt to look as nonthreatening as possible making denizens less likely to attack you. | |
Overwatch | Watch for movement in a direction. |
Watch diligently for any movements to or from the location in the direction you specify. | |
Dashing | Run away! |
This ability allows you to move swiftly through several rooms in the same direction, stopping when you no longer can continue. | |
Huddle | Just like a turtle. |
By huddling like a turtle, you reduce all incoming damage by 40%, This effect lasts for a fairly short time. | |
Pounce | Pounce on an unsuspecting victim. |
If you are concealed in the shadows using the SLINK ability, you can then pounce upon an unsuspecting target, disrupting their balance. If your target is prone, it will cause damage instead. | |
Victoryrush | Rush of adrenaline after a kill. |
Let the rush of victory warm your blood and inspire you onward to greater acts of glory! Whenever you slay something, your balance time will be 10% faster for the next 30 seconds. |
