Axolitl

An aquatic amphibian native to the salt-rich Ixsei Desert of planet Nadru, the axolitl is related to some Ixsei salamander species with innate regenerative properties, with a large head flanked by feathery external gills, a broad flat body, four lizard-like legs and a flat swishing tail. Its skin is mottled green and its eyes are round, dark and flash with iridescent yellow irises. They are popular pets, despite the particularly high salinity and the upkeep costs associated with it.
