A detritovore native to Gallen III, the 'black feracht fish has a large, flat head with a triangular snout, long, trailing sensory whiskers called barbels, and pointed ear fins. Combined with its long, slinky body it bears a passing resemblance to a tiny aquatic feline. The entire body of this fish is covered with faintly iridescent black skin, which is covered with sensitive taste buds. It has pupil-less eyes like fractured green glass stare out blankly from its boxy head.
