A basking amphibious turtle native to Usum Usutti, the sun turtle is a small but aggressive predator in the wild, with faintly iridescent green scales, and a heavy, black-lined shell used to absorb heat from the sun and warm its cold blood. They are able to retract their spade-shaped head, limbs, and barbed tail into its shell when they feel frightened, or chase after their prey with surprising agility on three pairs of webbed and clawed feet. Gamekeepers speak of truly ancient sun turtles that are said to have evaded hunters for five hundred years or more.

Miniature breeds of the sun turtle are rare luxuries, but have a more placid nature than their wilder cousins. Conservationists from GCEPS keep a specimen of this miniature variety, and they allow approved xenozoologists to study it so as to educate more people about this fascinating example of life that is cruelly hunted for sport.
