A photosynthetic schooling fish native to Atria, the mask fish is a flat fish with a teardrop-shaped body that is riddled with naturally-occurring holes that allow light to pass through the creature more easily. Chlorophyll pigmentation in its skin drastically reduce the amount of food it needs to eat, and makes its soft skin a pale green color that truly drives home its similarity to a tattered leaf.
The variegated mask fish is a mutation rather than a separate species, in which albino-white spots speckle its normally leafy green coloration.
