Native to the copper-rich rapids of Selubir, the prayer fish has a unique body, which is bifurcated vertically like a bellows or a book, which it is able to open and close with enough force to swim upstream even against great force. The exterior of the fish is dark red, but its folds gleam with an eye-catching scale pattern of yellow, green and orange veins that it flashes to any fish that may be in pursuit. It is widely-eaten across Selubir's colonies, and its red flesh is said to be savory and delicious, particularly when smoked or pickled.
