Giant gilworm

A huge burrowing worm native to the Deisk, the moon of planet Sighaerd, the giant gilworm has a wound spiral body that takes advantage of its size, strength and stored tension to effectively drill through sand, soil and stone with relative ease, ploughing through in a corkscrew motion. It is covered in coarse and spiny growths that make life unpleasant for creatures attempting to interfere with its endless and sightless tunneling.
