A grass which grows on the lush plains of Usum Usuti, flint grass grows a nutty fruit called flint nut. The exterior of the nut is easily flammable and often causes large fires during the dry months. As the vegetation dies out, the highly heat resistant pods inside the nut sprout a verdant carpet of new flint grass for the next year. The grasses and nuts are both rich in essential amino acids and proteins.
Animals don’t like flint nut but they are eaten as a delicacy by certain races. The Decheerans consider eating the nut repulsive.
