Abilities in Exploration
Ability | Description |
Appraisal | See full stats on a weapon or armor. |
This ability allows you to list your weapons, and adds damage information to WEAPON INFO.
Glancing | Glance around. |
You can see what is in an adjacent room. Note that certain effects may obscure the location.
Swimming | Safely cross watery rooms. |
This ability allows you to swim across flooded areas.
Jetpacks | Basic usage of jetpacks. |
If you are wearing a jetpack, you are now capable of operating it to fly around.
Excavation | Bury and recover items. |
If you have a shovel, you can dig around to search for hidden items. You can also bury items in the ground.
Comparison | Compare weapons and armor. |
You can compare the features of two weapons, or two pieces of armor. All the relevant stats are listed, including mods.
Extinguishing | Extinguish nearby fires. |
If a fire has been started at the location, you may attempt to extinguish it.
Search | Look for secret exits. |
While many paths are visible at a glance, some are not. With this ability, you can search for secret ones hidden at your location.
Survey | Information about your area. |
This ability shows you your current area, as well as an estimate of how much of it you have currently explored.
Features | Find interesting locations nearby. |
Shows you the important features nearby, as well as the path to them, Crazy Jerry's, repair depot, cloning facility, and more.
Grace | Fall with grace. |
If you fall from the skies, the damage that you take is reduced somewhat. This is automatically in effect.
Squinting | See far into the distance. |
Squinting will allow you to look as far as the eye can see in a single direction.
Lurkers | Is anyone there? |
Do you feel the prickle of someone watching you? Check to see if anyone is hiding in the shadows at your location (possibly via AB SKIRMISHING SLINK).
Mark | Remember a room, then return swiftly. |
With this ability, you can memorize a room, then swiftly return back to it. The room will only stay marked for about 5 minutes. Returning to a marked room requires concentration during which you may do nothing else.
Bombsweep | Locate a concealed IED. |
Sweep your location for any concealed improvized explosive devices (IEDs). You wouldn't want to step on one.
Peruse | See what someone is holding. |
Peruse the inventory of another person for entirely altruistic reasons. We'd never accuse you of having green eyes.
Analyze | Check what an item would react to. |
This ability lets you discern actions that an item would respond to.
Jogging | Move faster, but do not get hit! |
This ability allows you to move around a lot faster than you normally could. However, if you take any damage from any source, you become winded and have a chance to lose your tempo, causing you to stop jogging.
Bugsweep | Scout the room for listening devices. |
You now know how to locate spying devices (bugs) in your room.
Treading | Tread very carefully. |
Treading causes all your movement attempts to have a two second delay, but also ignore any traps.
Scouting | Locate the closest unexplored room. |
You can scout the area, finding the closest room that you haven't explored yet. There is a long cooldown before you can do this again. |
