-- The Song Dominion - #110 ---------------------------------------------------
Author: Starmourner Vega T'rvati
Subject: My Challenge: In the Shadow of 900 Years.

As of this year, the Song Dominion has reached 900 years old. Nine hundred years of leading the Sector by banding together to be more, accomplish more and aspire to more. Only a handful of decades passed before they razed our glorious capital planet to the ground, and yet we still endured. Time and time again we, the Song Dominion, have been challenged and yet we remain.

Our current Lord Commander has worked with the War Cabinet to implement many changes just as the Lord Commander before them, and the Lord Commander before them. Each of these chapters has taught us much, we should all take these lessons to heart. The history of the position is long, and the history of our faction longer still as ours is a story of perseverance. All the races that have made it this far, no matter their origin story play a role now in our present and future.

Fellow Dominion citizens, follow my lead as I look forward to the future, to start a new chapter for all of us. I respect the lessons of the past, work with those who hold the fort of the present, and fight for the future of the Dominion.

Order. Dedication. Unity. These hold us together and set us apart from those who do not gather under the Dominion banner. When I think of the Song Dominion, I see all of those who came before us and all of those yet to come. With your support, we can once more move towards preserving what makes us the Song Dominion and what has kept us this way for almost a millennium.

So what will change if I am appointed to the position of Lord Commander? Near everything in some way shape or form. Innovation and genius cannot grow or develop in a stagnant environment. The Dominion is a meritocracy, where people from all walks of life come to have an equal chance to create and serve based on their ability. While I will take inspiration from both the near and distant past, it is important for each Lord Commander to set the tone while all the individuals of the masses lend their voices to the song of Unity.

The Lord Commander we need, at this junction, is one that will act with a clear vision in mind. One who will carry the dreams and aspirations of the Dominion populace into a rejuvenated climate that sparks a new age of innovation and honor. Perfection is not something we are born into, but one goal of many. With each stumble and lesson learned we are one step closer to that finish line.

It is now time for the Dominion to let its voice be heard.
